SENIOR THESIS EXHIBITION
Integrated Media Arts | May 2022
MY WORK
My series of work aims to study and visualize the invisible relationships and interactions within the human body and mind. The work within this exhibition seeks to illustrate the internal and external mechanisms and reactions of mental health. Through video, info graphics and photographs, I aim to depict the objective and subjective realities of mental health. I want to make the chemical realities of our minds evident, alongside the indecipherable and interchangeable symptoms that have become radically prevalent within modern society.

Open Door Inside
Mental health disorders are not a choice the same way physical ones are not. Displaying parts of the neurochemical side of mental health to show that there is more happening in one's mind that is obvious by looking.
Beyond the Eye
There is more than what an X-Ray can see, the story behind each image. The truth of what is happening with an individual is not black and white.

The Hidden Truth
Just because someone may look okay on the outside doesn't mean that they are okay on the inside. I demonstrate what this could mean through images that display deep emotions which are hard to put into words.
Breathe In
In order to show a full picture of the life of someone with mental illness, it was important for me to not only show how it affects the body negatively but also the positives possible, and benefit of getting help that is needed.
